9th Annual Brian DeCaire Memorial Race
Event Information
That time of the year has rolled upon us and they can only mean 1 thing, the return of one of the best ways to cap off the season. The 2019 edition of the Brian DeCaire Memorial Race for Canadian Cancer Society. This year will be similar to years past for the most part except for a few changes.
First change will be the fees. In the past we had it set as 1 minimum donation. This year we will be charging as per entries to generate more donations. $30 for First class, $15 for 2nd, $10 for the 3rd, $5 any additional beyond.
Second is we will be running Qual Points instead of rocket round to give a whole new aspect to the changing track conditions from morning to mid day to night racing. Best 2/3 will count to sort out the qualifying positions for the mains,
In a return from last year, we will be renting light poles again this year. Giving racers ample practice time and qualifying time for the whole weekend.
Friday will see practice from sun up until probably 11pm. We will start with open practice but will turn to controlled once the action on the track picks up into the night, The track crew will monitor the track surface and water and keep the track surface in as good of shape as possible.
Saturday will start early (Time TBD) and roll through 3 rounds of qualifying until completed.
Sunday will start early with the mains and run all mains throughtout the day.
Times will be determined as entries roll in and we see how it looks.
Camping is more then welcome to all racers for the whole weekend and racers can show up early in the week but track events will not be starting until Friday AM.
