Thursday Night Thunder Race #2 **TEKIN**
Event Information
TNT is coming back **SPONSORED BY TEKIN**
We are making the TNT format a little different. This should spice up the racing and competition!!! The racing will be a 5 week series. 4 weeks of seeding (with prizes and bonuses for the championship race) and 1 major championship race. With a major prize fund!
The goal: To get more people racing, get more people interested, make racing more competitive. This format should give slightly slower people a chance to race with the faster people! With a 80% handicap if you are the fastest person you should still easily win if you don’t mess up. If you are a slower person you can still easily win if you don’t mess up. So, DON’T CRASH!
Over the top goal: I’d like to see 40 entries for 1 race on a Thursday night and 55 entries for the championship race! Is it realistic, yes, we are doing it. Invite people, it will be a great time.
1. How seeding rounds work (week 1-4)
– 1 heat and 1 main
– heats are ran normal call by name
– main is ran backwards so last place will seed into first and so on till first place seed is last. Each car is then called when to go based of a 80% handicap. This will allow for closer racing, harder racing and giving even slower people a chance to win if they are perfect.
– winner receives a free entry to the next seeding race.
2. How the championship will work
– each place for a seeding round gains you points. Points will be as follows. First place is 0, 2nd is 2, 3rd is 3 etc. TQ will get -2 points (no sandbagging see ??). Person with the least points will start in first and so on. The champion ship will triple a mains for eBuggy and a 30 min nitro main.
3. Prize fund
Championship race will be $250 + donations from companies. Plus $2/$1 from each entry of the 5 seeding rounds.
Championship race entry fee to prize pool is $7/4. Guaranteed prize fund is for ebuggy and nitro buggy. Winners of novice will get 2 free entries to a future TNT.
Entry fees will be:
Seeding rounds : $10 & $6
Championship race will be: $25/$13
Prize fund (based of 25 || 40 entries) for each class:
1. eBuggy – $90/40/20 || $135/65/35
2. Nitro Buggy – $90/40/20 || $135/65/35
3. Truggy – $90/40/20 || $135/65/35
4. 1/8 sportsman $30/15/5 || $45/25/10
– we are looking for 4 more business sponsors. We have 1 main title sponsor for the raffle.
– I will be selling water/Gatorade/soda for $2 and every sale goes to the prize fund as well.
