Tommy "Buddy" Hudson Benefit
Event Information
As many of you know, Tommy "Buddy" Hudson is one of our local racers. This race is to help support Buddy and his family throughout his cancer treatments and beyond.
Here is a little bit of Buddy's story...
He went to GI Associates on June 1, 2018 to get his esophagus stretched because he was having trouble swallowing and they found ulcers and a yeast infection, they told him to come back on June 4, 2018, to have more biopsies done on the ulcers in his esophagus. GI Associates called on June 5, 2018, and said that the ulcers were cancer and they wanted him to come back on June 6, 2018, to have a CT scan done. He had the CT Scan done on June 6 and no more than 5 minutes after he got home the doctor called and said that he needed to get to St. Dominic Hospital fast because he had a blood clot in his right lung, come to find out he had 2 blood clots instead of one. We were in the hospital for 3 days. He had a PET scan done on June 11, 2018 and saw the oncologist on June 12, 2018, who confirmed that he indeed has Stage IV Esophageal and Stomach Cancer. He had his 1st round of chemotherapy on June 26, 2018. He had a chemo port put in on August 1, 2018, and will have his 4th round of chemotherapy on August 7. We have a daughter named Desiree that will be 11 years old in September and a son named Mason that will be 4 in October.
Just recently Buddy has decided to retire due to these health reason. The original treatment was not working and the next round of a new treatment is not covered by insurance.
Let's come together and show Buddy and his family, just how strong our RC Family is. They need our help more than ever right now and every little bit helps.
Buddy's church (Hickory Ridge Baptist of Florence) will be onsite for this event selling lunch plates for the cause. All proceeds from this race will be going to Buddy and his family. We will have raffles throughout the weekend as well.
We will be running 20 min Nitro A mains and Double A Mains (combined results) for all Electric Classes.
Come on out and let's blow this family's mind and wrap them in love and support!
